On 5th March, this will be a big day for the deaf community, especially for the devoted viewers who have supported BSLBT and BSL Zone for many years.
BSLBT will undergo a transformative rebrand to an exciting and vibrant identity, that is known as LumoTV.
What is so exciting about LumoTV? Well, they have a new mission: to entertain, inform and inspire both deaf and mainstream media industries through high-quality and engaging content. LumoTV is the new go-to place for fresh, diverse and innovative content that celebrates and connects with the deaf and sign language communities.
By illuminating ideas and sparking creativity, LumoTV empowers creators and viewers to discover, grow, and connect in a space where inspiration thrives.
We won’t forget all the hard work BSLBT and BSL Zone have put in over the years to provide the deaf community with a strong platform and sense of community, so lets come together and celebrate this milestone.
BSLBT was established in 2008 with the approval of Ofcom, to offer an alternative way for commercial broadcasters to meet their regulatory requirements to provide sign language on their channels. To date, we have commissioned over 400 TV and web-based programmes and short films, all made in British Sign Language.
In London, LumoTV will bring the deaf community together on the evening of the 5th, premiering two new shows: The Chris Baker Show: How to Get Rich, and Where the Light Gets In.
This exciting evening will give the deaf community an opportunity to come together, catch up, network and enjoy the new shows on the big screen. Also, on the same day, LumoTV’s brand new identity and online presence – including their website and all social media channels – will go live!
